Swiss Association of Wealth
Managers | SAM
With over 2,500 members, the Swiss Association of Wealth Managers SAM is the industry association for independent wealth and portfolio managers in Switzerland. It was founded in 1986 with the aim of promoting the economic importance and recognition of the independent wealth management profession. As an industry representative, the association is committed to the reputation of the industry and the protection of investors. It is also active in training and continuous education.
AOOS supervisory organization for asset managers and trustees
The AOOS is as a supervisory organization (AO) in accordance with the Financial Market Supervision Act (FINMAG). This ongoing supervision monitors the business activities of the asset managers and trustees affiliated to it with regard to compliance with legal regulations and licensing requirements. The AO is in turn approved and supervised by FINMA.
FINMA - Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority
FINMA is Switzerland’s independent financial-markets regulator. Its mandate is to supervise banks, insurance companies, financial institutions, collective investment schemes, and their asset managers and fund management companies. It also regulates insurance intermediaries. It is charged with protecting creditors, investors and policyholders. FINMA is responsible for ensuring that Switzerland’s financial markets function effectively.
